Tammy Hembrow, the founder of Tammy Hembrow Fitness, launched her brand on Instagram in 2013. Fast forward to 2017; Tammy now has a social media presence of 7.4 million + followers on Instagram and 800,000+ subscribers on YouTube. Tammy’s success is attributed to her honest and open approach to her social channels, which has allowed her followers to connect with her. Tammy’s rise to popularity is a testament to her hard work and commitment to the lifestyle she has chosen. The admiration of her community comes from a desire to learn from her. From her knowledge of fitness, Tammy has created fitness programs that you can do from the comfort of your home. Earlier this year Tammy launched her second business Saski Collection, an athleisure label created to inspire confidence in women inside and outside the gym. Tammy’s biggest achievement, however, is her Son Wolf (age 2) and Daughter Saskia (age 1) who have awarded her with one of the hardest jobs of all being a Mum. Check out Tammys tips on modern day motherhood and being a bad ass biz babe.

About me pre Mama
I would say before I was a mum I was probably a little more social, especially in terms of free time. These days I rarely get a minute to myself, whereas before I was a mum, I would spend more time doing things like going to lunches with friends and parties. These days my lunches are pretty much only business meetings and my weekends are spent with my babies.
About me now as a Mama
Busy! I thought I was busy with work before, but after my second baby, everything got a whole lot harder. I have to be more organised than I was before and I also have a little less me time, but that’s something I’m willing to sacrifice while my babies are still young.
What is one thing that Wolf and Saskia have taught you about yourself
They have taught me to be adaptable. I was a bit of a control freak when it came to life and business in general. With kids you have to be flexible, things rarely go to plan, and as a result, I have had to learn to relinquish some control and embrace the unknown.
What are your tips for balancing motherhood, a business and ‘me-time’
I’m still working on it myself. It’s extremely difficult for me because I want to be able to do it all. I want to be a full-time mum and give all of myself to my kids but I also want to be there for my businesses all the time, but that’s impossible. Instead, I have had to learn to delegate and manage my time in a way so that I can give enough of myself to both where they need me most.
What is your advice for a first time, Mama
My biggest piece of advice is not to be too hard on yourself. You can’t do everything right all the time; failing is a part of being a parent you will learn and try to do better. It’s all a learning experience and there is no one right way.
What are your top 5 essentials for today’s modern day Mama
I’m not too sure exactly but here is a list of things that are my go to’s
1: A great pair of jeans - easy to slip on and accessorise with so you still can look stylish on the go
2: A stylish baby bag - You want it to be practical, but you also want to look good, and you don’t have to compromise
3: Never leave the house without the baby essentials - nappies, bottle, favourite toy and of course baby wipes
4: My phone, not only can I work on the go, but I can snap the perfect pictures of the babies - of course, my phone is full of them
5: Matching pajamas - I find it seriously the cutest thing ever and I have whole sets of the family including Reece. People go crazy on my social media when we all match and I think it’s a growing trend.

Who are your influencers
I love Khloe Kardashian and Emma Grede, I got to work with them on their Good American Campaign earlier this year, and it’s amazing to see women kicking goals in business. I love the brand and what it represents, not to mention the clothes is super comfortable!
What’s coming up for you and where can we find you
I’m always on the go and constantly have something in the works. Right now, I’m working on a massive project (my biggest yet) for Tammy Hembrow Fitness; I’m bringing more collections to Saski Collection, expanding my teams and working on some great collaborations over the next 12 months. This week was the launch of my collection with In The Style a UK based brand. I’m excited to be working with them because the clothing is affordable yet stylish and can’t wait to see girls wearing the clothing.
